To an angel

​ Tonight I met an angel
She looked like you or me
Except she had a glow about her
So bright that I could see

​She had a twinkle in her eye
A warm smile upon her face
I looked for a halo
But couldn't find a trace
 
 I felt the love that God had placed
Deep within her heart
It reached out and touched me
Right from the very start
 
 I felt I'd known her always
From the moment that we met
I think God planned it that way
And that she was heaven sent
 
 We talked and talked of many things
About our walk within the Light
I received a blessing in my life
When I met her that first night
 
 Time flew by and she had to leave
To go back to her home
I knew I had to write about her
That's why I wrote this poem
 
 I hope and pray we'll meet again
In another time and place
Just to see her glow of love
And that smile upon her face.
